Publishing a collection is for a site. When you only need one document in front of one person, share the file instead.
Open the file and press Share. Markloom sets the file to "anyone with the link" in your Drive and gives you a URL:
markloom.app/s/<file-id>
Anyone with that link can read the rendered page. They do not need an account and they cannot edit.
A readable name#
The raw link works forever, but it is not something you would want to read aloud. Give it a name and you get:
markloom.app/s/<your-handle>/release-checklist
Names live under your own handle, so you only ever collide with your own files — not with another user's. If you rename it later, the old name stops working and the raw file-id link keeps working.
Turning it off#
Unshare from the same dialog. The link stops resolving and the Drive permission is removed.
A shared link is unlisted, not private. It is marked so search engines do not index it, but anyone the link is forwarded to can read it.
A link that no longer works shows a short page explaining that it was turned off, rather than a bare error — usually more useful to the person holding a stale link than a 404 would be.
